Here on the Sunshine Coast, we love where we live. That's why we are doing our best to help ensure we are implementing sustainable practices within our event experience.
• Recyclable paper cups used on course.
• Recycle bins are provided around the event precinct.
• Hydration station positioned at the event for participants and spectators to refill their water bottles.
• Use of public water rather than bottled to serve participants on course.
• All clothing left at the start line and on course is donated to charity.
• No paper/plastic policy in athlete race packs
• Plastic Bag Free
• No printed Competitor Guides. These are available online only.
• Public Transport Information available online to encourage people to find other ways to travel to and from the event.
• Park n Ride shuttle bus service offered to participants to minimise traffic around the event precinct.
• Encourage training as participants form of commuting to and from work.
• Volunteer waivers are electronic.
• Event registration is electronic.
• Option for participants to opt-in to help restore native ecosystems and biodiversity on a local site in Caloundra via the Re-Forest program.
• Use of local suppliers where possible.
